When you click on the offenders’ names, a page will come up that has their photo (if available) or police sketch, current address, physical description, and lists all charges of which they were convicted. It will even state the ages and genders of their victims, so if someone living near you has been convicted of sodomizing a five year old boy, you’ll be able to find this out. Becoming aware of this information may be really unsettling, but in our opinion it’s better to be aware of people like this living in your neighborhood.

Fleshbot recently linked to a fascinating section of Playboy.com called Waxing Nostalgic - a look back at the ‘do’s of the bunnies’ nether regions over the years. Looks like the hairstyling (aka wax jobs) really ramped up in the early ’90s. Earlier centerfolds would be considered hirsute compared to today’s minimalism. We recently viewed a mid-1990’s America Undercover documentary titled “Fetishes: Mistresses and Domination at Pandora’s Box”.  Director Nick Broomfield spent time at the famed Pandora’s Box domination service, speaking with the mistresses and eventually gaining access to  sessions with their well-heeled clients. It’s a fascinating peek into the world of BDSM which is so foreign to many, but all-encompassing for a few. The film delves a bit into the psychology behind both the mistresses and the clients’ urge to engage in these activities, as well as into the dangers associated with maintaining relationships outside of BDSM.

The film contains quite a bit of activities you might expect to take place - spanking, nipple pulling, humiliation, bondage, and slavish devotion to mistresses. One of the most fascinating things to us were the sociopolitical fetishes which involved degradation againt a client’s race or religions. One Jewish client wanted to be degraded in a 1940s Nazi scenario, and one African-American client wanted to be treated like a pre-Civil War slave.

Columbia University hosts a Q&A website Go Ask Alice! This site has two whole sections dedicated to sexuality, relationships, and sexual health. “Alice” answers a wide range of questions, from “Are my labia ‘normal’?” to “Will I ever find a gay partner?”. We think this site is a great resource for anyone, not just college-aged individuals. No question is too weird, stupid, or inappropriate. This is definitely a website to check out, and even to submit questions of your own in a safe, anonymous environment.

Planned Parenthood has a website called Teenwire.com that’s geared towards teenagers who are sexually active or thinking about becoming sexually active. The site hosts a wealth of educational information for both guys & gals, from birth control & safer sex to LGBT issues to abortion. If you are a teenager or are a parent of a teen, this site is one to check out. They’ve thoughtfully included a Spanish-language section on the site for a portion of the population sometimes ignored by sex educators. Teenwire is a great resource; spread the word about it and help educate!

Can you imagine being arrested for throwing a sex toy party? We can’t. But it happened to one woman in Texas back in 2003 (charges were later dropped).
