A really important website we think everyone should be aware of is the National Sex Offender Registry - particularly if you are female or a parent. What this site allows you to do is input an address and it will return a list of registered sex offenders living or working in that vicinity. When you click on the offenders’ names, a page will come up that has their photo (if available) or police sketch, current address, physical description, and lists all charges of which they were convicted. It will even state the ages and genders of their victims, so if someone living near you has been convicted of sodomizing a five year old boy, you’ll be able to find this out. Becoming aware of this information may be really unsettling, but in our opinion it’s better to be aware of people like this living in your neighborhood.
